Ah!  So you found my giving page!  If you’re a Christian wanting to give to me, please pray about it.  I wholeheartedly welcome questions, especially if you’re on the fence about giving, or just wonder in general about what I’m doing or what God is up to in my life.
 

How to give:

Online:  MEI:  My income mostly funnels through MEI (Mission Enablers International), which happens to function well on laptops or desktops.  I am identified in their system with the unique code RU3641.  There is an option to have automatic billing; donations are typically tax-exempt.  Donors will receive an email when their donation has been successfully made, and I will get an email once it is fully processed.

Why are you supported through donations, instead of working or being paid?

YWAM staff are encouraged to build a team of individuals who contribute to the staff member's monthly income.  This model of support works well because of the personal investments between missionaries and their supporters.  This is clear especially in Luke 8:3 and Luke 10.  Working also takes away from time doing ministry, and while it is not a bad model, it is not most helpful for someone working in missions full-time.

Why don't you want to live in poverty like the missionaries I have heard about?

I am in missions indefinitely, which could turn out to be a long time.  Not only is relative poverty uncomfortable, it is not sustainable.  I have many of the same financial wishes as the rest of America-- to be able to cover monthly expenses, to have an emergency fund, to have some savings ready when important purchases come around, to have some amount of money when I am old.  I definitely want to be ready financially when having a family of my own becomes a reality.  Did you know that, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, the average annual income per capita in America is $34,103?  I am not a statue on a pedestal; I am a real person with practical desires.

At the same time, I know God provides in any situation, and I am still content to let Him.  He has brought me through some tough times; and He's the same God for the billionaire as He is for the impoverished, and everyone in between.

Are you concerned that you are stealing from other people's paychecks?

No.  I ask that everyone who gives to me does it without reservation.  Moreover, the God I worship owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and He rewards givers.

Have you seen my donation yet?
