Kris Goodaker and Family - Opportunities to Pray

I'm writing an update on behalf of Kris Goodaker and his family, to report to his sending church.

Kris and his wife Aretha, and their two young children have been sent out from our church to Alaska. They have been there for nearly a month, and seem to be settling in.

Already, they are blessing others with the ministry of the home. Kris, who has a strong evangelistic heart, has been talking with neighbors and new friends and acquaintances, including one (we'll call him Edgar) who he would like to disciple and who Kris has invited into his home to read the Bible and pray together.

The kids are also getting involved. Their older child has been making friends with kids at the neighborhood park, including a Muslim family. Pray for open doors and receptive hearts in this family to hear the good news of Jesus Christ and respond favorably.

The Goodakers live close to one of the most diverse neighborhoods in America. Kris reports that he has met people from all over the world-- Pacific Islands, Europe, even as far as Sudan. This can be a great aspect of ministry to pray into, asking the Lord to show aspects of His nature and character in Anchorage through the many nations and cultures represented.

Something else to pray for is community and fellowship for the whole Goodaker family. Every missionary is aware of the impact community has on the quality of their life and work. The Goodakers are attending a church, but continue to pray that that church would support and encourage them as true brothers and sisters in Christ.

Also continue to thank God for His provision for Kris, Aretha, and their kids. They would benefit from more monthly financial support in their mission to Alaska. God is a provider, and the cheerful giver who partners with Him will be blessed; pray for more of these cheerful givers.

Thank you, Goodakers, for following the call to Alaska to bless God and others!
